The Denver Nuggets' seven-game win streak ended in Charlotte tonight, and George Karl will have to wait for at least one more game to get his 1,000th career win, as D.J. Augustin led the Bobcats to a 100-98 victory with 18 points and 6 assists.
Even though the Cats opened up leads time and again, the Nuggets would not quit, hitting clutch threes and pulling down key rebounds just when it looked like the game would get out of hand. However, Charlotte got timely shots of their own and solid bench production to finally pull away for good in crunch time.

GAME THREAD COMMENT
Warmec -- Is DJ showing leadership, LB? I think he is.
-- Tyrus Thomas sat out the final couple of minutes with a quadriceps injury. Get better quickly. We need you.
-- The Cats still can't defend the three. Denver shot 11-27 from distance, for 41%. I suspect it might be a function of perimeter defenders not trusting the paint defenders to challenge shots at the goal, and thus dropping off a bit more than they might otherwise. The Cats made up for it by shooting 9-20 from three, themselves, but it's more likely Charlotte's total was nudged upward due to good fortune than Denver's.
-- Without looking, I bet you know who got DNP-CDed.
-- Augustin was efficient, shooting 7-11 from the field for 18 points, with 6 assists to 2 turnovers. Also, somehow, he got credit for a blocked shot.
-- Gerald Wallace finally got back in the swing of things, putting up 20 and 9, with 5 assists. While he only shot 5-11 from the stripe, at least he was getting there, a very important facet of his game. Furthermore, Carmelo Anthony finished with 22 points on 21 shots. Good work, all around.
-- Before leaving, Thomas continued his incredible offensive run, hitting 6-8 shots for 16 points, and pulling down 4 rebounds, all in only 15 minutes. If he's not hurt, he ought to start.
-- Shaun Livingston also continued a run of solid play. While he wasn't much of a point guard, his shots were falling. Livingston played a good deal alongside Augustin and, while he didn't get an assist, he did shoot 4-5, for 8 points.
