That was disappointing. The Houston Rockets defeated the Charlotte Bobcats, 97-90, at the Toyota Center. Though the Cats are probably the better team, the loss is hardly surprising since they clinched a playoff spot last night and had deactivated Stephen Jackson in order to rest his injured hamstring, and Tyrus Thomas to protect his injured thumb.
In that context, it's understandable that Gerald Wallace would take 22 shots to score 18 points. What will never be understandable is Larry Hughes getting 40+ minutes.
The Cats' offense never really got going, so to pick a "star" of the game, it's between Raymond Felton, who shot 6-10 for 16 points, with 5 assists and 5 rebounds, or Boris Diaw, who shot 7-11 for 18 points, with 5 assists and 3 rebounds, or, my choice, Tyson Chandler, who shot 3-3 for 7 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and had 5 blocks in 33 minutes.
It's an abbreviated recap because the Cats have already made the playoffs and are virtually locked in to the 7 seed, and because I've got an important announcement coming up in a few minutes. Stay tuned...
