Who's your spirit baller?

New, comments

Hump Day conversation starter -- which I may have asked before, but who's counting...

When you play ball, which NBA player do you most try to emulate? Or, for the non-delusional among us, which NBA player do you take as your inspiration, since we can only dream of emulating pros' skills?

My guy is Dennis Rodman. As I explained long ago: ...My favorite player growing up in the mid-90s was Dennis Rodman. I was an undersized power forward on my junior high teams that won exactly one game over two seasons. I couldn't shoot and couldn't create off the dribble. But the Worm showed me I could still rebound like mad and play good defense.
