Bobcats stand strong against Suns, win 114-107

The Bobcats had to know they might end up in a shootout in Phoenix, and that's exactly what happened. The Cats prevailed for the second night in a row, on the road, in the west, defeating the Suns, 114-107.

True, the game felt fast, and I'm sure when the stats are updated tomorrow morning, we'll see that the game was played at a well-above-average pace, but both teams' defense was suspect, each side allowing ridiculous shooting numbers; the Suns shot 46% from the field and 50% from three (16-32) -- including last-minute desperation chucks -- while the Cats shot 51% from the field and 53% from three (9-17).

Sure, the pace was fast, but Steve Nash still went off for 27 points on 15 attempts, with 15 assists. But that wasn't enough to overcome six Cats who scored in double figures, led by Gerald Wallace, who scored 22 points on 13 attempts, and pulled down 10 rebounds. Gerald Henderson deserves mention for scoring 15 points on 12 attempts and getting 2 blocks that were Karl Malone specials, strips as the shooter went for the basket. And finally, it is duly noted that Kwame Brown got a double-double with 12 points on 4-5 shooting, and 10 rebounds in only 26 minutes.
