Bulls On Parade - Rage Against The Machine
Game Overview: The Bobcats are still on a roaring tear through the NBA, heading into this game having lost five in a row. Luckily, the Bobcats are getting some of their most important and most talented players back from injury - just in time to make a push for the last playoff spot that no one seems to want. While I expect Tyrus Thomas to get limited time on the court so as to not push himself too hard and possibly re-aggravate his injury, Stephen Jackson will likely start. However, if things don't feel good, he'll probably shut it down for the evening.
Conversely, the Bulls are rolling on all cylinders, winning ten of the last 12 games. Derrick Rose is having the type of season that will likely win him his first MVP trophy and head coach Tom Thibodeau has turned this already strong squad into the NBA's number one defense (both in OPP PPG and OPP FG%). Joakim Noah anchors Chicago's interior defense. Derrick Rose and Carlos Boozer run an effective pick and roll offense.
Key Matchup: D.J. Augustin vs. Derrick Rose - Do I need to explain this? Derrick Rose can slice and dice DJ's defense, especially with his quickness and also on the PnR, where DJ has struggle with screens. If DJ can get his outside shooting going and do a decent job of facilitating ball movement while doing his darnedest to fight through screens, the Bobcats will have a good shot. PS. a tip on the PnR: go under. Rose's long range shot is better than years past, but still not very efficient. While he may be able to get an open three, I'd prefer that over letting him get a step or two on you. Just my two cents.
Meme-y Thing About the Opponent Fun Fact: I couldn't remember anything meme-related, but Luol Deng did attend one of Manute Bol's schools in Sudan. That's awesome. I miss Manute.
