On Friday, the Bobcats continued their predraft workouts, bringing in Kemba Walker (UCONN), Tristan Thompson (Texas), Shelvin Mack (Butler), Nikola Vucevic (Southern Cal), Trey Thompkins (Georgia) and Delvon Johnson (Arkansas).
For transcripts from interviews with each player, except Johnson, head over to the Bobcats predraft workout recap, which also includes videos of the interviews and exclusive short videos from the workouts.
Michael Jordan showing up to the workouts is not some passing fancy for only the first day, as he was at the practice gym once again to watch the prospects do drills and play one-on-one and three-on-three.
Stephen Jackson also spoke to the media following his workout with the team, which came after the draft workout had wrapped up. Rick Bonnell wrote this piece about Jack's new physique, what it means going forward in his career and his outlook on his role on the Bobcats. Meanwhile, Mike Cranston crafted a piece about Kemba's workout.
Odds and Ends
- Only one guy had Charlotte connections - Trey Thompkins, whose brother lives in Matthews.
- Kemba Walker wore a nice pair of Air Jordan 2011s in the white/varsity royal-deep royal colorway.
- DID YOU SEE GAME 2 OF THE FINALS?!? Just... wow. I had written off Dallas with a few minutes to go, but they stormed back in impressive fashion to even up the series at one game apiece. I was afraid Miami was going to run away with the series, but this gives me hope that this is going to be closer than I thought.
- Saturday, the Bobcats will bring in the following prospects for Day 3 of predraft workouts: Kevin Anderson (Richmond), Mustapha Farrakhan (UVA), Andrew Goudelock (College of Charleston), Malcolm Lee (UCLA), DeAndre Liggins (Kentucky) and Jacob Pullen (Kansas State).
