Game time - 1:00 p.m. EST
Well, this sucks. I don't think the game is on TV or radio, as far as I can figure out. If it is, please let us know in the comments.
Anyway, the new-look Bobcats make their (hopefully, I assume) competitive debut against the Washington Wizards in their first exhibition game of the year. At this time, I am not aware of any injury problems for the Bobcats. The Wizards, on the other hand, will be missing John Wall, who is out for eight weeks with a knee injury. Nene will also be out with foot problems. Jannero Pargo and Trevor Booker are gametime decisions after they were held out of Washington's final training camp practice.
Former Bobcat Emeka Okafor will also be making his return to Charlotte for the first time as a Wizard after Washington dealt New Orleans Rashard Lewis for Okafor and Trevor Ariza.
UPDATE: Okafor will not be playing, per Bonnell
With a shorthanded Wizards team, I think the Bobcats should have a good shot at winning this game. However, the team will undoubtedly still be in transition learning the new system and meshing so I wouldn't expect a precise basketball machine. The team is young and mistakes will happen throughout the season. But this game will just be fun to be able to see young talents show their stuff.
Anyway, I'm just glad basketball games are back. Before you know it, the regular season will be here.
