Gerald Henderson probable for tonight's game

Starting shooting guard Gerald Henderson is nearing his return to the Charlotte Bobcats, Rick Bonnell reports.

He went through the walk-through with the team and might play tonight. Bonnell says there aren't any indications of how much playing time Henderson could receive or how the lineups will be affected but he's betting Henderson will play.

Henderson had been out for about a month with a left foot sprain suffered against the Dallas Mavericks.

Most directly this will push back playing time for Jeffery Taylor, who has shown marked improvement in the past few weeks, especially in his offense and confidence.

If Henderson indeed is back in the starting lineup, this takes away a three-point threat from the starting lineup but adds Henderson's better ability to finish at the hoop. Regardless, it makes the Bobcats much deeper at the wings, and being able to bring Taylor off the bench will make the second squad considerably better, especially defensively.

The Bobcats are currently 6th in the NBA in points per game from their bench, with 39.2 ppg, but are also 29th in bench points allowed.Their differential in bench efficiency ranks them 18th. This should solidify the bench for the Bobcats and hopefully improve that starkly bad defensive side.
