Bobcats fall to Mavericks 89-83

The Bobcats moved to 3-3 in preseason ball after dropping a game to the Dallas Mavericks by six points.

To be brief, here are some highlights (and lowlights, I suppose):

Bismack Biyombo had another strong rebounding game. Be aware this is a small sample size and crummy sample at that, but in the past four games Biyombo has averaged 13 rebounds. Further, this might have been his most efficient scoring game ever. It doesn't count for anything other than a pat on the back of course, but six points on two FGA! Anyone have the number to ESPN to call them and let them know their rankings are wrong?!?

The Mavericks only got to the free-throw line for 13 attempts. The Bobcats had 33. The 'Cats' previous game had FTA differential heavily in favor of the Bobcats against the 76ers, too, with 18 attempts separating the two teams. It was +21 against the Cavaliers, +15 vs the Bucks, +2 against the Heat, and +16 against the Hawks in the opener. Being able to get to the charity stripe makes the game easier. It creates foul trouble for opponents, can help players find their stroke and, simply put, it's a freaking free throw. But then again, that doesn't necessarily make for an efficient offense, as shown by the Bobcats last year, who had the league's third-best rate of free throws per attempted field goal and also the league's third-worst offensive efficiency, per basketball-reference.com. Grains of salt this big could be used as salt licks at the Kentucky Derby.

Hooray for Cody Zeller and his double-double!

Yikes for Kemba Walker and Gerald Henderson combining for 11 turnovers and 8-for-25 shooting!

Yikes for the entire starting unit totaling 18 turnovers!
