The Bobcats will be without one of their most versatile players tonight with Josh McRoberts out due to personal reasons. In his place, Steve Clifford will start Anthony Tolliver. The team hopes McRoberts will return to the team in time for their game against the Cavaliers on Friday, Bobcats reporter Stephanie Ready said.
McRoberts has been a valuable asset to the Bobcats thus far, offering a quality frontcourt player with a three-point touch, high basketball IQ, solid ballhandling for his size and a decent eye for assists. To this point, he's shooting 45.8 percent on threes and averaging four assists and four rebounds a game.
Though his defense isn't going to shut opponents down, it's McRoberts' versatility that makes him such a good fit for the Bobcats. As the top three-point shooter on the team, he gives the team the necessary floor-stretching shooting ability to help space defenses.
Tolliver has been the second best on the team in three-point percentage so it seems Clifford is trying to reclaim some of the sharpshooting he'll be missing in the wake of McRoberts' absence.
