Bobcats agree to re-sign Josh McRoberts

Josh McRoberts has agreed to return to play for the Charlotte Bobcats next season, per Yahoo!'s Marc Spears.

The contract will be worth $6 million over two years with a player option in the second year, a source told Spears.

The Bobcats had made re-signing McRoberts a goal after the play he brought to the team revitalized the frontcourt late in the season after the trade deadline deal that sent Hakim Warrick to Orlando.

With decent ballhandling skills and a high basketball IQ, McRoberts changed an often-stagnant offense into one with much better ball movement. He was a decent passer and fine rebounder to boot. McRoberts moved well with and without the ball, giving the Bobcats a player that could greatly help an in-out passing game.

The talent he brings will be a great addition off the bench and the contract is so very nice. It's inexpensive and friendly to both the team and McRoberts.

The Bobcats have completely restructured their frontcourt with more experience and youthful talent. The depth chart moving forward will possibly look like Cody Zeller and Al Jefferson starting, then McRoberts and Bismack Biyombo coming off the bench. In a vacuum, that's a very versatile and interesting group each with their own distinct strengths and weaknesses.
