Hornets at Wizards Preview: Let's Run It Back

The Hornets and Wizards will play a rematch of their matchup of a week ago, this time in Washington

When: 7pm (EST)

Where: Verizon Center - Washington DC

TV: LOL, no.

After three games at home, the Hornets begin a three-game road trip tonight in Washington. It was all good just a week ago when the Hornets trumped the Wizards 99-86 in Charlotte. So far this preseason, the Hornets are 2-1 at home and 0-1 on the road; so this will be a good opportunity for the team to get re-acclimated to life on the road.

However, both teams will be doing this a little shorthanded.

Gerald Henderson and Lance Stephenson are out, and Kemba Walker is a game time decision. Look for lots of Gary Neal and PJ Hairston in light of these injuries. As for the Wizards, they will of course be without shooting guard Bradley Beal-- who is recovering from wrist surgery. Really, it's a scary time to be a backcourt player in the Southeast division.

It will be interesting to see if the Wizards can continue to roll this postseason in Beal's absence and continue to build confidence as the regular season nears. Currently, the Wizards are 4-1-- which likely means very little --but their only loss was to the Hornets on the road. Undoubtedly the Hornets and Wizards both will be looking to get a feel for one another as not only division rivals, but potential playoff opponents down the road.

But, I may be getting ahead of myself considering it's the preseason. Still, these are two teams that will eventually be jostling for playoff seeding, so you know they're going to be studying each other inside-out.
