Hornets vs Grizzlies GameThread

The Charlotte Hornets take on the Memphis Grizzlies in their second game of the NBA season.

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

It's unlikely that tonight's game against the Memphis Grizzlies lives up to Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, but tonight's game presents its own set of story lines and challenges for the Charlotte Hornets.

For one, the Grizzlies have one of the best frontcourts in the NBA, which should be quite the test for Al Jefferson and the other Hornets bigs. Memphis also sports one of the best defenses in the NBA, and it will be very interesting to see how they gameplan for the Hornets' pick-and-roll, post-entry offense. It's likely that the Grizzlies will limit Jefferson's touches in the post, and even when he gets the ball, chances are he won't find any easy looks inside.

Luckily, the Hornets do have some advantages over the Grizzlies. The Hornets' swingmen, Lance Stephenson and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, should present problems for the Grizzlies' Tony Allen and Courtney Lee. Still, there's no doubt that both players will not have an easy game against a stout defense like Memphis'.

Without further ado, let's get talking!
