I got in contact with our old friend Jameson Draper from PistonPowered. He was kind enough to answer some questions for us about how the Pistons have been so far this season. We quickly go over Josh Smith, the Pistons playoff hopes, and the Pistons future.
Chris Barnewall: Moe Cheeks has been fired and the team has chosen to move ahead with an interim for the rest of the season. Does this mean the team is comfortable with what they have, or are they going to use the rest of the season to evaluate what they have for their future plans?
Jameson Draper: Probably an evaluation period, only because I don't think they would have made the decision for Loyer to be permanent so quickly if they were comfortable with what they had.
Barnewall: Joe Dumars, he's gotta be gone after this season right?
Barnewall: Are the Pistons more likely to make the playoffs, or actually keep their pick for the draft?
Draper: Probably keep their pick. Especially after what we saw from last night's game; the Bobcats look like a much more high-caliber team than the Pistons.
Barnewall: How has Brandon Jennings been this season?
Draper: He's been the typical shoot-first Brandon Jennings with marginal improvements in his passing game.
Barnewall: How has Josh Smith been this season?
Draper: Despite his historically low three-point shooting numbers, Smith has been better than people give him credit for this year. He has helped the Pistons become an efficient offensive team with his passing, and he's been the Pistons best defender this year, hands-down. While he's doing it quietly, Smith is a huge asset to this team.
Due to busy schedules we had to keep it short and sweet for you all. Have any more Pistons related questions? Jameson will be happy to answer them for you on his twitter @jamdraper.
