Hornets vs Spurs GameThread

The Hornets are on their longest winning streak of the season and hope that trend continues tonight against the San Antonio Spurs. Chat with us!

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

It's been a while since the Charlotte Hornets played a game. In fact, they've only played six games in two weeks, and this week is no different. Aside from games against the San Antonio Spurs tonight and the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, the Hornets are off until next week.

It's possible that these long rest periods have allowed the Hornets to focus on the team's offensive and defensive principles, and perhaps have let them develop some chemistry off the court as well.

Lance Stephenson will be available tonight, too — his first game in nearly a month — although Steve Clifford warned that his minutes would be restricted. That's a smart move, as the team has been winning without him and there's little need to rush him back from an injury that can be chronic.

The Spurs are still a very good team even though they've taken a step back this season. Luckily, the Hornets match up well with them. Something in my gut suggests this game won't be a blow out for either team.
