Hornets vs Magic GameThread

The 10-24 Hornets are taking on the 13-23 Magic. This should be fun.

Another day of spinning the tires, it seems.

The Charlotte Hornets currently sit in the 12th spot in the Eastern Conference, and their opponent tonight, the Orlando Magic, are one spot ahead of them.

While this season's not over for the Hornets — they're currently just 4.5 games out of the eighth seed — the team needs to kick it into high gear if they want to salvage what's been a disappointing season for them. With Lance Stephenson out yet another game with a nagging groin injury and Al Jefferson out for his third consecutive game, that's a lot to ask for. Without Stephenson, the Hornets have gone 4-5. Without Jefferson, they're 0-2.

Luckily, the Magic present a solid opportunity for the Hornets to keep their playoff aspirations alive. While the Magic aren't terrible, they're weak enough that the Hornets can sneak into the Amway Center and steal a win if they enter the game with focus and resolve.

Still, the Magic are considerably better than the Hornets in the frontcourt, especially with Al Jefferson's absence. This could be a long night.

Let's chat!
