Charlotte Hornets vs New York Knicks gamethread

The Hornets take on the Knicks in a battle of undefeateds.

Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

The Charlotte Hornets take on the New York Knicks in tonight's preseason matchup. It's been a long time since basketball was played in Charlotte, but finally the fans of the queen city will get some basketball. Even if it's not the good stuff.

Carmelo Anthony and Robin Lopez will both be resting for tonight, and don't be surprised if the Hornets open up their bench a little as well. Steve Clifford has been messing around with a lot of potential lineups so far, and seeing what works best, but we've reached the part of the preseason where there's no more real purpose to it for starters.

One thing that will be worth paying attention to at least is the Hornets frontcourt lineup of Marvin Williams, Cody Zeller, and Al Jefferson. While Williams is definitely going to be spending some time at the three this season, due to the Michael Kidd-Gilchirst injury, it's a bit of a surprise to see him in the starting lineup. He does however provide servicable 3-point shooting which should fit this new 3-point heavy offense they've been running.

The Hornets take on the Knicks and hey maybe they'll remain undefeated. All that matters is the games that count are almost here. Just a little longer.
