Charlotte Hornets at Minnesota Timberwolves GameThread

The Hornets (2-4) play the Wolves (4-2) tonight. Also, it's Chris Barnewall's birthday.

Welcome, Hornets fans!

Tonight, our beloved Charlotte Hornets are in Minneapolis playing the Minnesota Timberwolves.

So here's the deal. The Hornets are currently 2-4. The Wolves, on the other hand, are 4-2. While most people agree the Wolves are overachieving as they cruise through a relatively easy schedule, they shouldn't be taken lightly. Ricky Rubio? Legit. Andrew Wiggins? Legit. Karl-Anthony Towns? Legit. There's a ton of offensive and defensive fire power on this Minnesota squad. And boy, are they ever athletic.

The Hornets are still getting a feel for themselves, but to their credit they've played valiantly against decent teams and simply come up short in the last 12 minutes. On paper, you might expect the Hornets to trump the Wolves by virtue of experience alone. And you'd probably be correct. The Hornets should be able to win tonight.

A question to ponder until the game starts: What's most surprised you about the Hornets so far this season?

And while you wait, wish our own Chris Barnewall a happy birthday! Let him know you love him in the comments.
