Charlotte Hornets deciding between Greensboro Attack, Buzz, and Swarm for D-League team name

The Hornets are closing in on a name for their new NBA D-League affiliate.

It's down to three.

The Charlotte Hornets are deciding between Greensboro Attack, Greensboro Buzz, and Greensboro Swarm for the name of their new NBA D-League affiliate. The NBADL filed trademarks for each of the three names last Wednesday.

The Hornets chose Greensboro from a list of seven cities — three in North Carolina, four in South Carolina — in late October. Since then, things have been relatively quiet.

Hornets president Fred Whitfield said he expects to be able to sell tickets by January, and that renovations to the existing Pavilion should be complete by Oct. 1, 2016. The NBADL's regular season starts in early November.

But there's still a lot left on the itinerary. The team has yet to settle on Attack, Buzz, or Swarm, and that means that any branding the Hornets have done is probably in its early stages. The Hornets also have to hire an entire front office for the new organization, from a general manager to coaches to equipment managers.

So, which name are you most fond of? Let us know in the poll!

Many thanks to @MyClippers for bringing this to our attention.
