The Charlotte Hornets had two days off to rest and spend time with their families for the holidays, but they're back tonight with a game against the Memphis Grizzlies in North Carolina.

But wait, more good news!

Al Jefferson's back! Jefferson missed a few weeks with a lower leg injury and missed an additional week and a half with a five-game suspension the NBA gave him for violating its anti-drug policy. The policy's outdated, but rules are rules and Al was missed sorely during that time. The Hornets have lost five of their last six games. Yuck.

Jefferson will be coming off of the bench, says head coach Steve Clifford, which if we're being completely honest might be the better place for him at this time. While Jefferson's willingness to pass has improved markedly this season, his post-heavy offense might be better suited to the second unit, especially after a long absence. If there's no rust on Jefferson, I wouldn't be surprised to see him starting in a couple of days. Welcome back, Al!

That means Cody Zeller is starting tonight, by the way.

The Grizzlies are tough, but they're certainly beatable. They've taken a noticeable step back this season. If the Hornets can hang a 60-point half on the Grizzlies, this one could be done quickly. That's a big if, though, as the Hornets have struggled from the field lately.

Anyway, this is a GameThread. You know the drill. Hop to the comments to chat about tonight's game with other Hornets fans!
