The Charlotte Hornets are playing the Miami Heat at Time Warner Cable Arena tonight, and it's gonna be a good one. The Heat might be fully healthy, and aside from the absences of Al Jefferson and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, so are the Hornets.
If the Hornets win tonight and the Chicago Bulls lose to the Boston Celtics, the Hornets shoot up to the second spot in the Eastern Conference. That's both a sign of how good the Hornets are and just how improved the Eastern Conference really is. In fact, teams seeded 1-10 are separated by just 2.5 games. That's nuts.
This isn't the Heat team the Hornets faced on opening night, either. Mario Chalmers is gone, and as mentioned earlier, the Heat are mostly healthy.
Can Nicolas Batum slow Dwyane Wade? Can Cody Zeller continue to flourish in his expanded role with Jefferson out? Grab your snacks and hop in front of your TV, it's time for Hornets basketball.
