Charlotte Hornets assistant Mark Price has come to terms with the University of Charlotte, and will become their new head coach according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer.

Mark Price has been an assistant for the Hornets ever since the hiring of Steve Clifford and he has largely been credited with the improvement of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist's jump shot. With a full season, and two offseasons, on the job Price has completely changed MKG's jump shot and turned it into a valuable tool in Kidd-Gilchrist's growing offense.
The jumpshot started off like this
and now it looks like this
To say that Price has had a huge impact on Kidd-Gilchrist, and the Hornets, would be an understatement. Which is kind of funny, because that impact is why it's not particularly surprising that Price is being hired away already. Good coaches get jobs and those that have seen the impact of Price's work had to know that eventually he was going to get a promotion somewhere.
Hornets fans are obviously disappointed with Price's impending move, not only because of MKG's jumpshot, but because the team overall could use his coaching. Charlotte as a team struggles with shooting and if he's able to improve a shot like Kidd-Gilchrist's imagine what he could do with the entire team. However, nobody will get the chance to see that come to fruition.
