The Hornets begin their summer league campaign in Orlando against the Oklahoma City Thunder. In case you missed it last week, here's the Hornets summer league roster.

Of course, all eyes will be on recent 9th-overall draft pick Frank Kaminsky, as he tries to show Hornets fans why Michael Jordan and the Charlotte front office were justified in selecting him over now-Heat player Justise Winslow or the bevy of picks that was allegedly offered to them by the Boston Celtics.

However, an obligatory warning from a stats nerd: the summer league has essentially zero predictive value of what will happen in the future. It's a way for players to get their feet wet against some NBA competition, start to learn their teams' offensive and defensive schemes, and develop some chemistry with other players. But the second point is key here -- these players are in a heavy learning curve right now.

Of course, it's almost predestined that a guy named Frank will have a fantastic first NBA game on the 4th of July. So ATH'ers, enjoy your 4th, your brats or dogs or whatever you grill, have a few beers, be safe, and enjoy watching the beginning chapter of some young Hornets.
