Charlotte Hornets vs New Orleans Pelicans GameThread

Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

The Charlotte Hornets broke a seven-game losing streak with a win against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday and hope to win their second consecutive game against the New Orleans Pelicans tonight.

Al Jefferson is out. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is out. Same old, really. Jeremy Lamb is dealing with a toe injury, much like Nicolas Batum was a couple of weeks ago. It doesn't sound serious, but he's being held out against the Pelicans. The Hornets can't deal with more injuries, so it's nice to see them playing it safe by resting Lamb.

The Pelicans aren't all that good. They're not exactly bad, either, but they're performing well below expectations. Anthony Davis was expected to take a gargantuan leap forward this season, with many in the media suggesting he was a Most Improved Player candidate prior to the season. Unfortunately, Davis looks a lot like he did last season. In some ways, he's coming across as worse.

This game is definitely winnable. Let's hope the Hornets are still riding high after breaking that losing streak.
