Charlotte Hornets at Los Angeles Clippers gamethread

The Charlotte Hornets take on the Los Angeles Clippers in a matinee affair.

Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

Good news Charlotte Hornets fans! The Panthers don't play today so you can watch your Hornets in peace without concerns of balancing out two different sports at the same time. Bad news Hornets fans. This game against the Los Angeles Clippers is a 3:30 p.m. tip off on the road in Los Angeles. Which means that they're actually tipping off at 12:30 locally, and for a bunch of guys that are used to playing late at night that's the same as waking up at 8 a.m. to go play professional level basketball.

Matinee basketball is always ugly, and considering the Hornets tendency to go through offensive ruts this could get bad. Add on top of trying to contain Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan alley-oops and it's not looking good. On the plus side, Los Angeles is playing under the same conditions as the Hornets so maybe they get off to a slow start as well.
