After a wonderful showing against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, the Charlotte Hornets are back at tonight in a kind-of-but-not-really playoffs rematch against the Miami Heat. The Heat beat the Hornets 4-3 in the first round last season, but they're a mostly different team this season.
Dwyane Wade moved to Chicago, Chris Bosh may never play basketball again, Luol Deng is a Laker, and Joe Johnson moved to the good ol' state of Utah. You can read more about the Heat's offseason here.
Here's what you need to know to tune in:
What: Hornets at Heat
When: Oct. 28, 2016 at 8 p.m.
Where: American Airlines Arena, Miami, FL
TV: Fox Sports Southeast, NBA League Pass
Radio: WFNZ 610 AM, WFNZ 102.5 FM
Frank Kaminsky is out a foot sprain for the second straight game, but otherwise the Hornets look healthy. Brian Roberts' hamstring has healed and he is available to play tonight.
Josh McRoberts, Josh Richardson, and Wayne Ellington are out for the Heat.
Here are tonight's projected starting lineups:
Hornets | Position | Heat |
Kemba Walker | PG | Goran Dragic |
Nicolas Batum | SG | Dion Waiters |
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist | SF | Justise Winslow |
Marvin Williams | PF | Luke Babbitt |
Roy Hibbert | C | Hassan Whiteside |
Keep an eye on Cody Zeller's minutes tonight. He had a good showing against the Bucks in limited minutes and Hibbert played 32 minutes that game -- well above his career average of 25 minutes per game. I'm not sure Clifford is married to Hibbert getting most of the minutes at center.
But then again, if his play against the Bucks is the new norm, that could change. He and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist are a terrifying defensive duo and chemistry is brewing between them.
