The Charlotte Hornets play their first preseason game of the 2016-17 NBA season tonight against the Dallas Mavericks. Tonight's game will not be televised, but that doesn't mean you can't follow the action and chat with other Hornets fans. Here's what you need to know.
What: Hornets at Mavericks
When: Oct. 3, 2016 at 8:30 p.m.
Where: American Airlines Center, Dallas, TX
TV: You can't watch locally, though it will be broadcast in Dallas.
Radio: WFNZ 610 AM, WFNZ 102.5 FM
Projected Starters
Hornets | Position | Mavericks |
Ramon Sessions | PG | J.J. Barea |
Nicolas Batum | SG | Wesley Matthews |
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist | SF | Harrison Barnes |
Marvin Williams | PF | Quincy Acy |
Roy Hibbert | C | Dwight Powell |
I'll cut to the chase -- it doesn't matter who wins tonight. This game is all about trying new lineups, new offensive and defensive sets, and getting guys who wouldn't normally get playing time some minutes. That said, this will be the first game Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has played since Jan. 29 earlier this year and therefore just the seventh game he'll have played alongside Nicolas Batum.
Hurray!
If you're not big on radio and can't find a way to watch the game, I recommend checking out Twitter to follow the action. And, as usual, hop on down to the comments below to chat about tonight's game!
