Charlotte Hornets at Cleveland Cavaliers gamethread

Today's matinee game features the defending champs

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

Today's matchup is a matinee with the Charlotte Hornets taking on the Cleveland Cavaliers in a mid-afternoon matchup. Take a break from Sunday football to watch this cause it should be a good one.

The Hornets continue their tough stretch of games following a close loss to the Toronto Raptors. After this they'll finish up with the Memphis Grizzlies, and San Antonio Spurs within the next couple of weeks. A win tonight would be huge.

Here's today's game preview if you need viewing info

It sounds like Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will play and start this afternoon, and Jeremy Lamb is listed as out. Roy Hibbert made his return against the Raptors and should be playing once again in today's matchup.

Here are tonight's projected starting lineups:

Hornets Position Cavs
Kemba Walker PG Kyrie Irving
Nicolas Batum SG J.R. Smith
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist SF LeBron James
Marvin Williams PF Kevin Love
Cody Zeller C Tristan Thompson

The Cavs are the defending champs and for good reason. This is an incredible team that if they wanted to could smack just about any team in the NBA. It'll be interesting to see if they wake up for this one as matinee games can usually have a slow start due to the early tip off time for players used to playing in the evening.
