At The Hive's 2016 NBA Draft open thread

The Hornets have the 22nd pick in tonight's draft, and no one knows what they're going to do with it. Chat with other Hornets fans in the comments below.

It's finally here. The NBA Draft is upon us.

While this year's draft doesn't have quite the hype of years past thanks to the Charlotte Hornets making the playoffs, there are still a lot of questions surrounding the team and how it plans to use the 22nd pick in the draft — if they decide to use it at all.

Earlier today, the Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Hornets are shopping their pick and one of Jeremy Lamb or Spencer Hawes to clear cap room. This makes sense, as the Hornets don't have the cap space to re-sign all of their free agents, especially if they decide to offer a max deal to Nicolas Batum or Dwight Howard. Add the fact that very few prospects came down to Charlotte for a workout and it's easy to see why the Hornets aren't enamored with this year's draft.

Still, several names have popped up in recent weeks. There's Thon Maker, the definitely-not-Bismack-Biyombo stretch four from Sudan by way of Australia. Malik Beasley is another possibility. Or perhaps the Hornets play it safe once again and decide to draft for experience, going with Malcolm Brogdon. Who knows?

Hop on down to the comments below and chat with other Hornets fans about the draft. The pre-draft show starts at 7 p.m. EST on ESPN, and the draft itself starts at 7:30.
