The wheels are beginning to be set in motion for the Charlotte Hornets' new D-League affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the team has found its first head coach - current Denver Nuggets assistant Noel Gillespie.

Gillespie has been with Denver for three years, spending time as an advance scout and an assistant coach. According to the Nuggets' web site, Gillespie was "responsible for scouting future opponents, scouting reports and developing the Nuggets players throughout the season and offseason." Prior to his time in Denver, he was an advance scout and assistant coach with the Phoenix Suns for 10 years.

Gillespie has served as an assistant coach in the Las Vegas Summer League multiple times and on the sophomore team and Western Conference All-Star team in 2007. He was also a head coach during the NBA scouting combine in Chicago.

The Greensboro Swarm, who are set to begin their inaugural season this year, have yet to confirm the deal.
