GameThread: Charlotte Hornets take on the Boston Celtics at home in their first preseason game

The Hornets are at home, and the game is on national TV. You'll want to tune in.

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

The Charlotte Hornets finally play a preseason game at home, as they take on the Boston Celtics for the second time. It's the first chance for fans to see the new roster play completely against another team in person. And since the game is on ESPN, those of us not attending can watch as well, meaning we don't have to rely on HornetsGifs for footage of Dwight Howard taking it coast-to-coast anymore (though we will continue to greatly appreciate it).

Some bits of info for tonight.

  • Jeremy Lamb is out tonight with an groin soreness. Rookie Dwayne Bacon will start in his place.
  • Michael Carter-Williams remains out, and according to Steve Clifford, he won't be ready for the season opener.
  • There will will be a shift in the broadcast booth, as Stephanie Ready will be down by the sideline this season, instead of next to Dell Curry and Eric Collins. She will continue to provide in game analysis, at least that's the suggestion.

Anyways, follow along and chat it up.
