GameThread: Mavericks vs. Hornets

New, comments

Its the last preseason game of 2017. Come chat as the Hornets take on the Mavericks at home.

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Charlotte Hornets end preseason at home against the Dallas Mavericks this evening. Charlotte is banged up, but the absences have allowed other players opportunities to prove they belong in the rotation. It hasn't always been pretty, but there have been exciting moments, particularly from rookies Malik Monk and Dwayne Bacon.

If you're fortunate enough to be their in person, enjoy the game and drop in afterwards. If you can't make it, the game will be streamed live on Hornets.com, but only to those within 75 miles of the stadium. The rest of us are out of luck.

UDATE: The rest of us are NOT out of luck. Dallas is streaming the game on their website. Click here for the link.

No Steve Martin, but it's better than nothing.

Anyways, on to some pertinent information.

  • The Hornets starters will be the same from the last two games; Kemba Walker, Dwayne Bacon, Marvin Williams, Frank Kaminsky, and Dwight Howard.
  • Jeremy Lamb, Treveon Graham, Michael Carter-Williams, and of course, Nicolas Batum are out injured.
  • Julyan Stone and Terry Henderson are questionable.
  • Michael Kidd-Gilchrist remains away for personal reasons.
  • Dallas will be without Seth Curry.
  • Rookie and NC native Dennis Smith Jr. limped off the court in last night's preseason game, so its unclear whether he will play.

And, that's about it. Enjoy the game!
