Cancel your appointments and ignore your friends, the NBA season is finally here!
Wow, that offseason was brutal. But whatever, we made it. Basketball is friggin' back. The Charlotte Hornets open against the Detroit Pistons tonight and I am drooling like Rick Sanchez about it. We have a fresh start with some fresh faces and the whole world ahead of us.
Tonight's game is in Michigan at the Little Caesars Arena (lol), so unfortunately we're stuck with television and radio. As always, you can watch live on Fox Sports Southeast and League Pass or listen live with WFNZ 610 AM or WFNZ 102.5 FM. The Hornets' home opener is on Friday.
Here are tonight's projected starters.
Hornets | Position | Pistons |
Kemba Walker | PG | Reggie Jackson |
Malik Monk | SG | Avery Bradley |
Dwayne Bacon | SF | Tobias Harris |
Marvin Williams | PF | Jon Leuer |
Dwight Howard | C | Andre Drummond |
Nicolas Batum, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and Michael Carter-Williams are out tonight for the Hornets. For the Pistons, Stanley Johnson and Dwight Buycks are out. I could be totally off with the Pistons' starting lineup, by the way. Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy made it clear he's uncertain about who'll start the season.
If you'd like a more thorough preview of tonight's game, Nick Denning's got you covered.
Anyway, it's game time! Hop on down to the comments to chat with other Hornets fans about tonight's game.
