Yep, you read that headline right.
Michael Carter-Williams is back with the Charlotte Hornets after a one-day stint with the Greensboro Swarm yesterday and Hornets general manager Rich Cho said he expects MCW to play in the Hornets’ upcoming four-game road trip.
Here’s a copy of the release the Hornets sent out:

So this is weird. The Hornets sent MCW to the Swarm last night and apparently things went so well they’re ready to bring him back into the fold. I was under the impression—prior to last night, anyway—that MCW wouldn’t be back until the new year.
I mean, the dude had knee surgery in August. That said, I’m glad he’s back. Kemba Walker’s in desperate need of a steady backup. Malik Monk’s done well, but he’s probably better in a smaller role right now.
Rick Bonnell reported on what happened last night and where Rich Cho thinks MCW’s at right now.
.@hornets GM Rich Cho said @MCW1 scrimmaged in Greensboro to test his knees. Possible he’ll play on Hornets 4-game trip.

It’s not clear if Carter-Williams will play against the Milwaukee Bucks tonight, but my guess is no, he won’t. But we’ll see.
Welcome back, Mike.
