Charlotte Hornets at Detroit Pistons GameThread

It's MLK Day, y'all! In honor of one of the most important civil rights leaders in all of American history, we have many basketball games to watch today--including one between the Hornets and Pistons. Chat about this afternoon's game in the comments below!

Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

The Charlotte Hornets begin a brief, one-game road stint this afternoon with a midday game against the Detroit Pistons. Seldom do we see the Hornets play a game so early in the day, but it's Martin Luther King Day and (most) of the NBA's target audience is on holiday today. So here we are.

The Pistons have played fairly well this season, but a few key players have been hit with injuries in recent weeks so the Hornets have an opportunity to sneak in and out of the Motor City with a win.

As usual, you can watch tonight's game live on Fox Sports Southeast or League Pass and listen live with WFNZ 610 AM or WFNZ 102.5 FM.

Here are this evening's projected starters:

Hornets Position Pistons
Kemba Walker PG Ish Smith
Nicolas Batum SG Avery Bradley
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist SF Reggie Bullock
Marvin Williams PF Tobias Harris
Dwight Howard C Andre Drummond

Cody Zeller's still out. For the Pistons, Reggie Jackson, Stanley Johnson, and Jon Leuer are out.

Tip-off's at 12:30 p.m. EST.

Hop on down to the comments to chat about tonight's game!
