So, weird thing.
The Charlotte Hornets and their opponent tonight, the Sacramento Kings, have essentially the same record. The Hornets are 13-23, while the Kings are 12-24. That's bizarre not only because the Hornets appear to be the superior team on paper but because the Kings undoubtedly play in the tougher conference.
A win tonight would give the Hornets their first winning week since the middle of November and maybe, just maybe, give them the momentum they need to start winning games and sneak into the playoffs. We're roughly two-fifths through the season, so there's certainly time to turn things around.
As usual, you can watch tonight's game live on Fox Sports Southeast or League Pass and listen live with WFNZ 610 AM or WFNZ 102.5 FM.
Here are this evening's projected starters:
Hornets | Position | Kings |
Kemba Walker | PG | De'Aaron Fox |
Nicolas Batum | SG | George Hill |
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist | SF | Garrett Temple |
Marvin Williams | PF | Skal Labissiere |
Dwight Howard | C | Zach Randolph |
Cody Zeller is still out for the Hornets but I expect we'll hear he's practicing again within the next week or two. For the Kings, Frank Mason and Harry Giles are out.
Given that the Hornets are out west tonight we've got a late start--10 p.m., yikes.
If you're up, though, get your chat on in the comments!
