The Charlotte Hornets take on the Philadelphia 76ers for the third time already this season, though this is the first contest in Charlotte. Normally there wouldn’t be a lot of new stuff to cover when two teams play each other for the third time in three weeks, but the 76ers did a thing earlier this week.
Jimmy Butler is now a 76er at the expense of Robert Covington and Dario Saric. The Hornets will get their first look at the newest 76er tonight, assuming General Soreness doesn’t get the best of him between now and tip off.
The former Timberbull was a revelation in his Philadelphia home debut last night, scoring 28 points on 15 shots in a 113-107 win over the Jazz. He’s the same defensive headache that Robert Covington was for the 76ers, and he also brings the scoring ability that the 76ers have needed to complement Joel Embiid.
Fortunately the game is in Charlotte, where the Hornets have played significantly better. It’ll be interesting to see how the team bounces back after having three days to reflect on their embarrassing loss to the Cavaliers on Tuesday.
