What: Charlotte Hornets (10-10) vs. Atlanta Hawks (5-16)
When: 7:00 p.m. EST
Where: Spectrum Center; Charlotte, NC
How to watch: Fox Sports Southeast, NBA League Pass
The Charlotte Hornets going 1-1 against the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks is fine. The fact that the loss came to the Hawks is less fine. The Hawks are 5-16 and have the league’s worst point differential. They rank 29th on offense and 23rd on defense. They’re not a good basketball team.
That said, they did beat the Hornets a couple days ago. Then they beat the Heat last night. Some of us in the blogging biz call that a winning streak. The Hawks led the Heat by as many as 19 points in the third quarter but saw that lead evaporate as the game wound down. Lloyd Pierce’s group was able to hold on for the win despite shooting 33% from the field and 0% from the arc in the fourth quarter.
The Hornets are coming off a huge win at home over the Milwaukee Bucks. The Hawks aren’t as good as the Bucks. If the Hornets bring even remotely the same energy and intensity that they did on Monday, they should get this win and move back above .500.
