When: 7:00 p.m. EST
Where: Spectrum Center; Charlotte NC
How to watch: Fox Sports Southeast, NBA League Pass
We previewed a match-up between these two teams just two days ago. What followed was potentially the craziest game we’ll see all season. The Hornets fell short in Brooklyn, but they’re fortunate to get a chance to make amends quickly.
A loss tonight would put the Hornets two games below .500. That can’t happen with January’s brutal schedule on the horizon. The Hornets play 10 of their 14 January games on the road, with seven of those coming on a west coast road trip early in the month. Kemba Walker and company need to start building a buffer so that road heavy schedule doesn’t push them too far down in the standings.
There is good news on that front. This is the second time the Hornets have faced the same opponent in back to back contests. The first time was against the Chicago Bulls. The Hornets lost by two points on the road in the Wednesday meeting between the two teams, just like they did against the Nets. They followed that with a 29 point drubbing of the Bulls on the following Friday. Let’s hope history repeats itself.
