The Charlotte Hornets haven't played a basketball game in over a week. They should be well rested and ready to make their push for the playoffs. Head coach Steve Clifford suggested prior to the All-Star break that the next 10 games will decide how the Hornets close out their season.
Tonight's matchup is the Brooklyn Nets, a team that has been miserable for a multitude of reasons and one that the Hornets shouldn't have much trouble putting away if this whole "playoff push" thing is for real.
As usual, you can watch tonight's game live on Fox Sports Southeast or League Pass and listen live with WFNZ 610 AM or WFNZ 102.5 FM.
Here are today's projected starters:
Hornets | Position | Nets |
Kemba Walker | PG | Spencer Dinwiddie |
Nicolas Batum | SG | Allen Crabbe |
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist | SF | DeMarre Carroll |
Marvin Williams | PF | Quincy Acy |
Dwight Howard | C | Jarrett Allen |
So, small bit of news on the injury front. I wouldn't be surprised if Malik Monk were held out of tonight's game--not that he plays much anyway--because of that car accident he was involved in. Reports suggest he's okay but a bit stiff. The Nets are dealing with a plethora of injuries: Jeremy Lin, Caris LeVert, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, and Jahlil Okafor are all out.
Please let this be an easy win.
Tip-off's at 7 p.m. EST.
