Charlotte Hornets at New Orleans Pelicans GameThread

The Hornets head south to take on the Pelicans in what should be an entertaining game. Chat with other Hornets fans in the comments below!

Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

The Charlotte Hornets are in strange territory.

They're 6.5 games back of the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, meaning they're technically still in the playoff picture though it doesn't feel all that likely. They seem to be trying, but it's difficult to recover from a five-game losing streak so late in the season. They did pick up a win over the Phoenix Suns on Saturday, mind you, drawing out what looks to be a disappointing season.

At this point, they'd need the Miami Heat to stumble considerably to close their season. Of course, they'd also need to start stringing together victories of their own on a regular basis.

Tonight's opponent is the New Orleans Pelicans. They're quite good—fifth in the West good—and continue to play excellent basketball despite losing DeMarcus Cousins for the season.

Fingers crossed tonight. Gotta stop Brow.
