As the wonderful Laieke detailed in today’s preview, the Charlotte Hornets play the Philadelphia 76ers tonight up in Pennsylvania. The Hornets, frankly, have been crap lately—they’ve lost six of their last eight—and after their stomach-churning loss to the New York Knicks over the weekend, it’s more or less assumed that they’re no longer interested in making the playoffs.
I mean, Nicolas Batum’s out with chronic tendonitis tonight. Google informs me is doctor talk for “recurring muscle soreness.” Hornets head coach Steve Clifford will have to dig ever deeper into the bench and play some of the Hornets’ youngsters.
That would be an acceptable outcome for tonight, as we can be relatively safe in conjecturing that the Hornets are not likely to pick up a win against a playoff team on the road.
As usual, you can watch tonight’s game live on Fox Sports Southeast or NBA League Pass and listen live with WFNZ 610 AM or WFNZ 102.5 FM.
