There's a chance the Charlotte Hornets still make the playoffs. This chance, however, is an improbable mathematical probability, a technicality, and a sort of courtesy to placate fans and the organization itself. But it is indeed a real chance and should the Hornets continue to operate as if making the playoffs is still their goal, they need to start going on longer and longer win streaks.
If one fancies oneself to be a playoff team, one should not and cannot lose to the Brooklyn Nets tonight.
I'd love to let the kids run off into the woods and see what they find but hey, looks like Cliff's intent on pushing through. Should be entertaining, at least.
As usual, you can watch tonight's game live on Fox Sports Southeast or League Pass and listen live with WFNZ 610 AM or WFNZ 102.5 FM.
Here are today's projected starters:
Hornets | Position | Nets |
Kemba Walker | PG | Spencer Dinwiddie |
Nicolas Batum | SG | D'Angelo Russell |
Jeremy Lamb | SF | Allen Crabbe |
Marvin Williams | PF | DeMarre Carroll |
Dwight Howard | C | Jarrett Allen |
As far as I can tell, everyone aside from Michael Carter-Williams is available for the Hornets tonight. For the Nets, only Jeremy Lin is out.
Tip-off's at 7:00 p.m. EST.
