That settles that, eh?
The Charlotte Hornets won the 11th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft Tuesday night, silencing any and all claims that they might luck their way into the Top 3. They had a 90.8 percent chance of getting the 11th pick.
The Phoenix Suns, who came in with the highest odds to land the #1 overall pick, nabbed the first overall pick this year with the Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks getting the second and third pick, respectively. Both the Kings and Hawks moved up into the Top-3.
Don’t get me wrong, it would’ve been nice to move up. But we mustn’t dwell on the past. Now, the Hornets’ scouting department can truly begin to pin down which players the team is interested in.
Players the Hornets have been rumored to be interested in include Khyri Thomas, Mikal Bridges, Miles Bridges, Collin Sexton, Kevin Knox, and Mohamed Bamba. They do not have a second round pick this year, however. They traded their 2018 second to the Grizzlies in the trade that got them Courtney Lee.
We’ll see what direction they go in on June 21.
