Jalen McDaniels joins Robert Franks as the Hornets two two-way players. They’ll be allowed to spend up to 45 days with the Hornets. The rest of their time will be spent with the Greensboro Swarm. They’re more likely to get NBA playing time than the previous Hornets two-way guys, both due to their ability and the relative weakness of the Hornets roters.
With this move, the Hornets roster is set going into the season. The 15 full time Hornets roster spots shake out like this:
Guard: Terry Rozier, Devonte’ Graham, Kobi Simmons
Wing: Dwayne Bacon, Malik Monk, Nicolas Batum, Cody Martin, Caleb Martin
Forward: Miles Bridges, PJ Washington, Marvin Williams, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Big: Cody Zeller, Willy Hernangomez, Bismack Biyombo
Simmons’ spot is the most precarious. If the team needs to open a roster spot for any reason, he’s the most likely candidate to take the fall. But props for him to playing his way onto the active roster.
