During the waning minutes of the Charlotte Hornets win over the Chicago Bulls, the Hornets PR team tweeted that x-rays revealed that Nicolas Batum had a broken his finger.

The injury happened when Batum got his finger jammed trying to catch a pass in traffic. He stayed on the court for a few more possessions, but went straight to the locker room when he was subbed out. The team originally called the injury a sprained hand (is that a thing), but further testing revealed the true extent of the injury.
The team hasn’t given a timetable for his return, but it probably won’t be long. The finger is on his left hand, and as Batum joked a couple years ago, we know he doesn’t use that one.
It’s my left arm guys! Everybody knows I’m not using my left hand (that’s what the scooting report says). We have a deep roster we’ll be fine

Batum played 11 minutes prior to his departure. He didn’t attempt a shot, but he did grab four rebounds and dish out two assists. Malik Monk and one of the Martin twins are likely next in line to fill Batum’s minutes if he has to miss time.
