The Hornets play a basketball game today

After several months off, the Hornets take the court once again in an emotional reunion.

NBA: Charlotte Hornets-Media Day Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

What: Charlotte Hornets at Boston Celtics

When: 6:00 pm EDT

Where: TD Garden; Boston, MA

How to watch: NBA League Pass

The Hornets open their preseason slate with the Celtics, who are now led by Kemba Walker. Ouch. It’ll be the first game the Hornets have played without Walker, preseason or otherwise, in several years. Of course Walker will be on the other side.

According to Rick Bonnell, the likely starters are Terry Rozier, Dwayne Bacon, Miles Bridges, and Cody Zeller. There isn’t much to read into with that starting lineup. It’s basically a continuation of the lineup that ended last season with an adjustment for Rozier and the good health of Zeller. It’s subject to change before the season starts, and that might not even be the starting lineup tonight if Borrego has a change of heart.

Elsewhere, Malik Monk, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and Joe Chealey are out tonight with a variety of injuries and ailments.

There isn’t a lot to analyze here. Just enjoy the fact that basketball is back.

Unfortunately the game won’t be televised in Charlotte. However, you can listen to it on the radio in its usual places. It’ll be broadcasted in Boston, so you have NBA League Pass or some other way to access Boston-area programming, you can watch it there. Unfortunately you’ll be subjected to the Celtics commentary team, and it doesn’t get much worse than that.
