If you feel like the Hornets just played the Pistons, you’re feelings are right. The Hornets will host the Pistons for the second time in a twelve day span tonight. Last time, the Hornets sent the Pistons packing with a Malik Monk 3-pointer at the buzzer. The Pistons will be looking to exact some revenge for that night with a win that’ll put them ahead of the Hornets in the win column.
Blake Griffin still hasn’t returned to form, but he’s been better in his last two games. He’ll certainly look to get himself on track against the Hornets soft interior defense. So will Andre Drummond, who the Hornets actually kept contained in the first meeting. He finished with 16 points on 16 shots and only snagged three offensive rebounds. The Hornets will need to limit him to another performance like that.
What they can’t have is another Langston Galloway game. Galloway has scored more than 20 points in one game this season. That game was the previous meeting between these two teams, during which he scored 32 points on 7-of-11 shooting from 3-point range.
Cody Zeller and Malik Monk are both listed as probable for tonight’s contest with hip and finger injuries respectively, so the Hornets should be at full strength. If things don’t go well, they’ll have another chance on Friday.
