Hornets to host ninth pre-draft workout on Saturday

The Hornets are bringing in a bevy of second round prospects for a workout on Saturday.

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-First Round-Oregon vs Wisconsin
We know the Hornets have a type.

The Charlotte Hornets are hosting their ninth pre-draft workout of the offseason on Saturday.

The participants:

  • Jordan Bone, Guard, Tennessee
  • Oshae Brissett, Forward, Syracuse
  • Ethan Happ, Forward, Wisconsin
  • Simi Shittu, Forward, Vanderbilt
  • CJ Massinburg. Guard, Buffalo
  • Isaiah Roby, Forward, Nebraska

It’s an interesting cast of characters. There are highly recognizable names from blue chip programs like Bone, Brissett, and Happ. There’s CJ Massinburg, who had a stellar career at Buffalo while leading the Bulls to a couple of NCAA Tournament victories in the last two years. Then there’s Simi Shittu, a five star recruit who elected to go to Vanderbilt where he was wildly unproductive in his lone season on a terrible Commodores team.

Most of these players are draftable in the second round, so there’s reason for intrigue with this group.
