What: 2019 NBA Draft
When: 7:00 p.m. EDT
Where: Barclays Center; Brooklyn, NY
How to watch: ESPN, NBATV
The first three selections of tonight’s draft are pretty much already decided. Zion Williamson is expected go first overall to the New Orleans Pelicans, followed by Ja Morant to the Memphis Grizzlies and R.J. Barrett to the New York Knicks. After that, the real fun will begin.
Now unless they changed the format, the draft show starts at 7:00, but as far as I can tell, the picks start getting made a little after 7:30. Each team will have five minutes to make their selection in the first round and two minutes to make their selection in the second round.
The Charlotte Hornets have the 12th, 36th, and 52nd picks tonight. In each of the last two years, the 12th pick was made at around 8:50 Eastern time. The 36th and 52nd picks will come quite a bit later, with the 52nd pick probably coming sometime between 11:00 and midnight.
You can check out our mock draft roundup to get a feel for who the Hornets might take.
